The 5th Erasmus Gender Seminar and Military Gender Studies Multiplier Event took place in Lisbon
On June 19 and 20, 2023, the Portuguese Military Academy organized the 5th Erasmus Gender Seminar under the theme "Gender perspectives in higher education”.
The Erasmus Gender Seminar 2023 brought together about 70 national and international researchers in a two-day debate forum which resulted in the dissemination of scientific research in the domain of gender perspectives in European Higher Education Institutions.
The event was also excellent to promote the ERASMUS Military Gender Studies International Project of which the Military Academy is the coordinating institution, having as partners the Università Degli Studi Di Torino (Italy), the Vasil Levski National Military University (Bulgaria) and Nicolae Balcescu Land Forces Academy (Romania).
The plenary session was attended by the Vice-Rector of Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Professor Isabel Nunes; Professor Mónica Lopes, from the University of Coimbra, and Lieutenant Colonel Per-Roe Petlund, Norwegian Defense Staff.
The event was presided over by the Minister of National Defence, Helena Carreiras, and featured the presence of General Eduardo Mendes Ferrão, General Chief of Staff of the Army and Major General João Loureiro Magalhães, Military Academy Commander.
